This weeks Issues!

This week was very eventful for a number of reasons. Last year, in my Database and Websystems class, all of my published github websites were flagged by google as dangerous for some reason. I worked on that problem for hours but could never figure it out. I eventually found out that microsoft edge did not have that same flag, so moving forward, I just ran everything on edge. That worked the entire semester, but now, I was having issues in the new Disco Tray group in github. Because of this, I finally desiding to create a new account. In doing so, we found out the problem was that I used my school email to create my github account, which caused the hendrix.edu domain to get flagged, causing all sorts of issues. Thus, I spend many hours importing all of my old repos to a new accounts and cloning them locally on my device. This took longer than expected because my file system is very odd and cluttered, so half of the time was just trying to find my old local copies and deleting them to update them with my new account. After this long process, with the help of Dr. Goadrich, we figured out that I had not updated my account in VS code, which now meant I couldn’t commit anything without my old messed up account linked to the cloned repo. Moving forward, I have to add my old account, in order to make anychanges to the repos I have already cloned, but any future ones that I make should be good to go.

Other Progress!

In spite of these github errors, I finally got my corrected picture and blog on the disco tray website. The Github account issues slowed this progress, but now it is all completely on there. Thus, I did two successful pull requests, with Jay accepting them and merging them with the rest of the main repo. Additionally, I also accepted Jay’s pull request, and merging his request with the rest of the repo. I also spend some more time looking at the medschool app and thinking about potential issues I wanted to create and what I wanted to change about the website. Progress has started a little slow, but after this week, things should pick up pace and we can make some good progress on the app.

Goals I am trying to achieve this next week!

  • Finish updating my blog
    • Create 3 issues to start working on
      • Go to both meetings with some sort of progress done
    • Divide the work up with Jay
